Shop windows sparkle and shine,
freshly filled, trimmed and signed,
while homes await their wreaths and pines.
To everyone’s delight,
the streets are lined with twinkling lights,
inviting strollers to meander into night,
enjoying the chestnut vendor’s lovely smell,
hoping for the sound of carolers or jingle bells.
