The Marion Story
This little blue bird is named Marion.
She is this story’s heroine.
Her voice is the purest you have ever heard.
She only sings and has never spoken a word.
In spring Marion rises early every morning,
to a bed of dew as the new day’s light is dawning,
in summer when the other birds are snoring,
she is dressed before the sun is warming,
in autumn as the leaves are falling,
she is up before the first rooster or crow’s cawing.
Every day she waits for Santa’s calling.
For at Christmas time as the lines are forming,
she will be on her favorite perch performing,
spreading her wings to the heavens,
she sweetly sings,
often inspiring flash mobs and caroling.
Now you know a few of the reasons,
Marion is called the bird for all seasons.
