The Nikolas Flakius Story
Nikolas Flakius appears in the woods where the snow fairies play,
arriving each December in a snowflake filled sleigh,
with a coat and procession that are a spectacular array.
As soon as he lands the fairies greet him in song and balletic sashays,
scooping armfuls of flakes from his gloriously overflowing sleigh,
and when the carriage is empty, they all fly away.
From the eve of winter solstice until the Twelfth Day,
the fairies sprinkle snowflakes onto the sleeping noses,
of the young and the old as everyone dozes.
Folks with tall plans and wishes,
who believe in the miracles of the night before Christmas,
will receive in their lifetime at least one visit.
