The Baba Ornato Story
Back in the earliest days of candy making history,
as the first recorded peppermints were swirling,
a man emerged who is still a mystery.
Baba Ornato arrived in a plaid gown that was long and flowing,
when the winter winds began blowing,
and the white flaked filled banks were steadily growing,
Every year now when dreams fill with sugarplums and snow,
and all but the tannenbaum lights are asleep or low,
Baba Ornato appears festively trimmed and aglow,
with the many sweet gifts he bestows.
On tiptoe he appears without a sound or shadow,
sent from above he blesses all here below,
with a gift of heart that fills every hamlet and borough.
