The Oh Hanukkah Story
Every year on the 25th day of Kislev,
under guidance and blessings from above,
we gather with ones we love,
to enjoy for eight nights,
the Festival of Lights.
In this sacred rite,
lighting candles left to right,
Hanukkah blessings we recite,
while the menorah’s candles burn bright.
Each night we exchange a gift,
gelt, jelly doughnuts and latkes delight,
spinning the dreidel is another highlight,
As we recount of the Hanukkah miracle,
where the lamp oil for one day lit with faith,
burned for eight,
creating this holiday of dedication,
and eight nights of celebration.
