Swan Lake's Story
This piece is inspired by the famed Tchaikovsky ballet, a tale of star-crossed lovers that echoes til this day. Opening with a flock of beautiful cygnets, framed by flower beds for thousands of bouquets, the birds glide in formation on a still mirrored lake, without a ripple or wake, but oh the heartache. Under a sorcerer’s curse, which only true love will reverse, from dawn until dusk, one swan named Odette appears as she must. Seen by the world to be a swan during the day, only at night is the truth of her maidenhood displayed. Then one night Odette and her true love, Siegfried meet. Unfortunately despite their pure love there was ill fate. The sorcerer seeking to destroy the lovers blissful state, conceived a plan of treacherous deception, Siegfried had no idea what befell him. He was tricked and duped and then betrayed her, broken hearted he begged for forgiveness and succor. The lovers kissed and the curse was broken. They were at last jubilantly bespoken.
